Almost Heaven Pub And Grill in Harpers Ferry

Great service, but the food is overpriced and not very good. The worst burger I’ve ever tried in America for $14. Owners probably think that If their place is centrally located, they shouldn’t care about client’s satisfaction. They are wrong: I almost went to another place after reading the reviews, and I think many people would do the same. Improve the quality!

Great food! Great service! My husband even had to go catch the bus back to our car because it was so far parked down st visitors station. Well, they were so nice they took his sub which had already gotten cold (not their fault) and made him a whole new hot one because he took so long getting back! We were very pleased and surprised. Not to mention our waiter was so sweet and kind!

Waitress was nice. Love the historical atmosphere. Food was terrible. Chicken "tenders" were not tender. Hard as a rock. Curly fries were cold.

Great food, drinks, and service.

I came here at an unusual time. Early evening Sunday, with bad weather.The food was ok, and the place wasn't packed, so we enjoyed ourselves.It's more like bar food, I'd say. Very simple menu. I'd consider coming here for a beer in the future... if I was hungry, thirsty, and in the area. I doubt I'd ever bring anybody here, however. Just a quick beer and a bite for myself.Blue collar, not white collar dining.

Had a really nice lunch here in April 2019. Sat upstairs and inside the dining room. Really cool layout. They preserved the old style of the building. The service was great. Our food came out quickly. The only issue was that the fries were old, but our server brought fresh fries out after we asked.We had the burger, cheesesteak,Reuben, turkey club and wings. Everything was so good! I'd highly recommend the burger. Had two different local beers, both were so-so (amber ale and lager). All in all, a great lunch and dinner spot. It probably gets really crowded during the tourist season though.

This place was great! We came in during the busy hours and the staff was on top of their game. I had a large, loud family and the waitresses were so accommodating. The building its self is very old and it just adds to the environment. The food and prices were great and no one left hungry. I would definitely recommend this place!

Nothing worse than the food tasting like the cooks couldn't wait to go home. I got the club, processed turkey stale bacon room temperature cheese and milted bread( sitting out with the bag open) I hope to never eat there again, good idea, catastrophic execution

We stopped here for lunch here on a side trip to Harpers Ferry. The food was fantastic. The crab cake sandwich was large, full of lump crab meat and one of the best I’ve ever had. My family’s sandwiches and wraps were equally as good. Prices are reasonable and the service was great. Do yourself a favor and come out and enjoy this beautiful historic town but without the usual summer crowds!!

Absolutely loved this place. The building was really cool. We sat at the bar upstairs and had the best bartender. You can tell all the workers love each other. Singing and dancing and having a great time , even though they were busy. Will definitely be back to hang out more the next time we are in town. Oh , and my drink was the bomb !!!!

Good views from the outdoor seating on the second floor. Friendly staff and great food. I highly recommend the fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce!

Extremely poor food quality (very greasy, and measly portions....would not recommend the fish and chips), horrible service (server did not know the food menu or drink options / prices), no drink list though there is a selective drink listing attached to the main menu with NO prices so one is awkwardly forced to ask the price of a beer (if one cares). I would never spend money here again.

Love this place. It was great service, the food was very good considering the type of restaurant it is. Very good, and a great place to unwind after exploring Harper's Ferry.

My boyfriend and I were there today with our son and LOVED it!!! I had the pub burger and he had the crab cake sandwich. Hands down the best burger I’ve had outside of my own house in a long time!!! My boyfriend had a few bites and agreed it was delicious!!! My only suggestion would be to add some red onion and it would be perfect! He also enjoyed his sandwiches and the server was very attentive and friendly! We’ll definitely be coming back😋

Service was fast, food was excellent (I recommend the steak sandwich!) and views from the top deck were perfect.

After a 2 hour walk with the family this place was literally Almost Heaven. The staff were excellent and very friendly. I had my 3 children with me and the staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful. As a family we shared the pretzels, fish and chips, onion rings and cheesesteak. Not a crumb was left! We sat upstairs outside since the day was a perfect 75 degrees. We will return very soon!

It’s descent. The food was typical pub food but nothing special. In such a historic landmark I guess I was just hoping for something a little more.

We are from PA. Here celebrating our 31st Anniversary. This place has Good food! Wonderful Staff. Food portions were huge and let me tell you... our waitress was the absolute Sweetest person her name is Jaunita so ask for her when you go!

I don’t know what the food tastes like here because we never got service. Were never even acknowledged after sitting down. Went and made it known we were there and needed menus etc. Still nothing. Eventually just walked out. Total time in the restruraunt was about 25-30 minutes. I only noticed one employee and a small child who was helping take drink orders. Yes a child. We went to a place just down the road and it was fantastic. I am giving 2 stars instead of just 1 because the employee may have been overwhelmed and understaffed( likely not her fault), and I just can’t give a 10 year old a one star review. So this place gets a mercy star.

Food was great and so were the people. Will be back next time we are waiting on a train. Thanks for putting our drinks in to go cups and topping them off before we left.

The service was great. The curly fries and everything else we ordered was delicious. Nice atmosphere. We enjoyed eating upstairs on the deck on this great fall afternoon.

Service was great.. the food was decent. Tables and chairs were dirty. The bartender seemed annoyed to cash us out when our server disappeared. There's much better places to eat in Harpers Ferry.. dont waste your "birthday dinner" here.

Good food, beer, wine and great service

My wife and I popped in to the Almost Heaven Pub and Grill for a quick bite to eat while visiting Harpers Ferry. I had the pulled pork sandwich and curly fries and it was excellent and hit the spot. Washed it down with a couple Budlights. The staff was very attentative and friendly. If you are visiting Harpers Ferry and just want to grab some eats to keep you going I recommend popping in here.

No obvious sign of where to sit or if someone will seat you. Multiple employees saw us downstairs and said nothing. When we walked upstairs one employee finally greeted us then just stared at us and said nothing else. We left. It was probably one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had in a restaurant.

Nice little restaurant with great view to the train station. Food is great, and the beer is nice and cold. Food portions are huge and well served, it is great place after spending all day walking at Harper's Ferry. Place gets busy during summer, but the staff is fast and very friendly.

The atmosphere is good. The food was only ok. The alcohol selection wasn't bad and our bartender was very friendly.

The food was good, the waitress wasn’t terrible but she sat next to us at a table piled with dirty dishes and 7/11 coffee cups and texted on her phone and dropped a few cuss words as we ate. Ignored it and moved on. Someone on the upper floor dropped some ice and as it was melting it started to drip down on to our table and the waitress came over at one point and looked right it and walked away. My husband had to move the table over so we wouldnt get splashed anymore. Okay experience but wouldnt come back.

Great place for a meal or just grabbing a few drinks. Be sure to say hello to Brenda and Tom, I think those two people alone are a reason so many people go here. I'll definitely be back.

After long day hiking around Harpers Ferry decided to drop by this place for cold beer. Ended up getting crab cake and it was literally heaven. Best I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor and stop in here to try one (or two as I literally had to have a second time one). You won’t regret it

The crab cakes were oversold by the waitress. Sitting at a table on the deck on the second floor was delightful after cycling 15 miles.

Awesome service for a group of 18 hikers. Perfect spot for a sandwich and a couple of local brews. Not amazing food, but good. Served beers in ice cold glasses, appreciated that. Great outdoor seating and views!

Nice restaurant near train station and museums. Has two floors and outdoor seating. They serve large portions and have a variety of beers.

Really loved the chicken wings with honey! The sangria was really sweet but the views from the patio were great!

Came here after 5pm on a Tuesday. Had loaded fries and an oatmeal stout after hiking the Maryland Heights trail. Sat on the second level deck on a nice evening with friendly service.

Came to Harpers Ferry for a day with the family and OMG Almost Heaven was the right restaurant to eat at!!!!! This gem restaurant serves huge portions at reasonable prices!!! Jane was very attentive to us and the kids. Making great recommendations. The pulled pork was definitely a great choice for my 13 year old daughter and the crab cake sandwich was amazing!!!! I highly recommend choosing the coleslaw as a side very creamy with a light crunch and the seasoning was amazing!!!!! Great atmosphere, great food, friendly staff and most importantly AMAZING FOOD!!!!!!!

I want to thank Almost Heave Pub and Grill for always being so welcoming and polite to myself and all my students when we come to eat lunch as part of our Out On The Town class with all our dogs in tow! Not only are they very dog friendly, but the drinks, food, and service is FANTASTIC!!! On the other hand one under new management up on the street above with a larger patio won't take reservations for us!!! Rabbit Hole don't bother if you have a dog!!! Rude, rude and rude every time we have tried there, last year under different management/owner was great! Almost Heaven is perfect for us and you!!!
